Does anyone have advice on being a Godly man?

I'm a Christian and in my men's Bible study, I see that there is a lack of godly manliness going around, myself included. How do I grow stronger to be a man after God's Heart?Does anyone have advice on being a Godly man?

as you know..david show example of HOW to chase GOD.


praying in tongues..even david had this..is vital.for a great closer relationship.


beyond that..no carnal can get that close..without an inner change.


the words of GOD..cleanse us..like water.


the spirit of GOd..presence..tingling..does the cleansing spiritually..(this happen in worship..that is from the depth of love..inline with truth..and coming from he heart..(spirit)


man is a 3 part being.


body.mind..spirit.


GOd is spirit..he talk to us..spirit..gut feeling..inner knowing..ect..bible reading..or study..by topic..(righteousness..then all these otherthings be added..so study..righteousnes..love..faith..hope..鈥?POWER.


CHRISt..isn't a teddy bear..like churches teaching..we need to be balance..for we did not get a spirit of fear..but POWER%26gt;OF LOVE AND SOUND MIND..GOD is LOVE..he/we who abide in LOVE..faith words we say in prayer..move mountain..split the sea..cast out demons..walk on water.whatever..armor of GOD..is REAL.spiritualpower..against pricipalies..establish on the earth..since time began...so we need FAITH MUSCLES..as well LOVE muscles..as well understanding our GOD position as conquer and overcomer. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Do not act like a know it all, and let they other guys see that you are growing in CHRIST also. And that you all have pleanty to learn.
what do you mean ';godly manliness'; ? just read and study the bible and follow it's teachings.
Apparently having a big white beard is important ...

always put Jesus first in you life, learn what Jesus did and do the same.

and if it isn't in Love don't do it, and saying i'm doing this in love, does not make it in Love.
hi. i would say (that's what i learned) follow God's 10 Commendments , pray regularly, talk to Jesus, God, our Holy Mother Mary about your feelings. Ask Jesus to help you and you will surely succeed. The most important thing though is to obey and do the will of Jesus, God, our holy mother mary. For example you can pray for others, pray the holy rosary, pray to the Holy Spirit to guide you and bring you closer to Jesus. Get to know Jesus and imitate Him. Read the Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis. Follow the examples of holy men like Peter, John, Joseph, James, John Paul II, the rest of the apostles and martyrs, good men like good fathers and priests or good bishops and Popes, saints like St. Francis, St. Paul, St. Isidore, St. Philip Neri, St. John Marie Vianney, etc. Their good example will give you inspiration to follow Jesus and become like Him as closely as possible. You can also look to the lives of holy women like St. Joan of Ark , Mother Teresa of Calcutta, St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Teresa of Avila. Read a book about the saints and be inspired by their heroic practice of the virtues. Practice the virtues heroically. Go to bible study or means of formation. Or better yet go seek the true faith and then learn how really godly men live their faith heroically in these times when so many lead mediocre and lukewarm lives.
Read Proverbs 31
Only God can change your heart, You can try all you want and be totally aggravated and frustrated until you finally give into temptation or you can ask God to help you to change and after you have asked, Believe you have received and be patient and believe God is at work changing you. It doesn't happen over night so keep in mind that you are under Grace and nothing can separate you from the love of God no matter what. Only Believe and receive or doubt and do without. But also bare in mind we are to be content in whatever state we are in. Take care and may God bless you spiritually.





P.S. God would rather have you a total mess and content than trying to walk on water and be miserable. It is discontentment that caused Eve to eat from the forbidden tree in the Garden of Eden. She wasn't content with what God had already provided.
I believe your question portrays the first step.Every answer here could be full of good advice, but nothing here can compare to the way the Spirit is speaking to you right now.Continue to follow the leading of the Spirit and you can't go wrong.
Question, what does a godly man is suppose to look like? Remember, Jesus didn't look godly when he entered the town on a donkey.
be honest, lvl headed, brave and do not push your ideas on others. you shoyuld educate people but do not force them to do any thing.
David was a man, after God's own heart.

This is one question that truly can be answered by a simple line of wisdom that I saw on a bumper sticker (of all places!):





Real men love Jesus.
I'm somewhat puzzled about the question. I don't think I've every heard anyone phrase it this way.





Men should be men, and women should be women.


And ALL should be Godly.





Are you saying the men are in touch with their ';softer side';? Or are you saying the men are not very solid or grounded in the Word of God? I'll take it as the latter. But there are a lot of soft men also.





The best way to be Godly, or rather Christ like. You need to pray often.





Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought to always pray, and not faint;





Read and study the Bible, at home and at church. (I use to carry my Bible to work and read it on my breaks)


Follow the Word of God how it says.





2 Timothy 2:15 %26amp; 16


15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.


16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.





We must pray, and we must study. In doing this we will become more Godly.
